Bangkok ‘Dangerous’ : PETITE AUDREY Review & VLOG (Part 2)

Bangkok itinerary is always full with shopping, and non-stop eating. This time we decided to try one of the must-go-thai-cafe called ‘Petite Audrey’. A cafe where all Thai youngsters and tourists talk about after Greyhound and After you cafe.

We initially wanted to go to the main Audrey cafe at Thonglor, but since we planned to shop at Siam Square and Platinum after that, we thought that going to the one at Siam will safe more time. Even though the one at Thonglor looks much bigger and nicer than it’s branch in Siam.

When we googled about Petite Audrey, some bloggers said that this cafe is inspired by Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. They adopt classic vintage feelings for the decoration, and Thai-western fusion for it’s food. Well, as for me, i love their entrance.

My hungry-face after waking up late and no breakfast. Haha.

Tom Yam Kung spicy herbs with Prawn and Mushroom (220 THB / 9 SGD) – Best gourmet of the day! Love the thin crust pizza, the prawn is not fishy, crunchy, and nice strong tom yum taste. Must try if you visit this place.

Crab Souffle served with Lobster Brandy Sauce ( 340 THB / 14 SGD ) –  Apparently it’s their must try dish, but turned out to be the biggest regret for us. The lobster sauce was so fishy till i couldnt take it. The crab cheese inside the souffle also smells a bit fishy, but much better than the sauce. Maybe the Thai people likes it? or maybe it was just a bad lobster day for us.

Salmon Spinnach Cannelloni (280 THB / 11.50 SGD) – one nice roll of spinach salmon with a lot of cheesee on it. My 2nd favorite after the TomYum pizza.

Spaghetti Dry Claim in Thai Chili Pasta & Basil (170 THB / SGD 7) – Nice al-dente pasta, at least for me. but the clam is a little fishy too for me.. But i still managed to eat this. still a nice plate of pasta for the rest of my friends. =)

Grilled Marinated Pork wrapped in White Noodles ( 170 THB / 7 SGD ) – It feels like a char siew chee cheong fun for me. Tender pork, nice sauce, but has cilantro-ish taste as well. I personally dont like cilantro, but this one is still fine, since it’s not that strong.

Thai Tea Crepe Cake ( 110 THB / 4.50 SGD ) – I always love Thai Tea, i think this layered cake makes a decent cake with thai tea filling and sauce on top of it. Not that fantastic, but still a nice dessert to have. This is one of the must try dessert in Audrey.

Flower Pot Cake ( 125 THB / 5 SGD ) – Available in 16 flavours if im not wrong. They claimed to be the very first pot cake in Bangkok. We thought that we can eat all of it, including the pot. HAHA. So, we tried to cut it.. and when we cant cut the pot, we called the waiter and asked him why we cant cut the pot. HAHA. And he just explained that it’s only a rubber container and cant be eaten. HAHA. Goshhh.. so basically it’s just a fancy cupcakes on a pot. I dont even know why all of us think it can be eaten as well. HAHA. I forgot what cake that we ordered, but i think it’s red velvet cake with cheese filling and buttercream flower on top? Hmmpp..

Overall, Petite Audrey is a nice hangout place for ladies like us who love to sit and talk and try new food. Haha.. Do see my below VLOG if you understand Bahasa! Hehe

Bangkok Best Wanton Mee and Mangoes

These are a few of my favorite foods. Mee and Mangoes. Since we only had limited time to do our research, we only searched those best thing to eat around pratunam and siam.

Actually there are a lot of nice food to eat around that area. But we chose those 2 for our breakfast and teatime.. 🙂

Sabx2 Pratunum Wanton Mee

A place that is very famous among singaporean (idk why).. Im not so sure if it’s popular among the indonesian. But im very very sure that this place is a must go for singaporeans. Why? Because we q-ed in front of singaporean. Turned back and see many more singaporeans. And we sit beside singaporeans. Hahaha.

The famous food in this food stall is their pork rice (pork meat and all the innards, like intestines, etc) and of course, their wonton noodle.

I didnt try the pork rice, cause i dont really like those kind of pork meat, where you can see all the fats and looks very horrifying for me.. But my brother and my friends said that the pork rice is not bad at all.. But cannot beat the wonton noodle. Really, the wonton noodle that they serve is the best one that ive tasted so far.. Yes, eventho i stayed in singapore for so long, i must say that this noodle is very good. Maybe they put too much lard inside? Hahahaha.

This noodle smells so nice, undoublty it’s the fried lard smell and taste so good as well. They are using chewy thin noodle, with thin roasted pork, some pork dumpling and some vegetables.

They will ask you to order the small bowl or the big one. Since we afraid that we will be too full, we ordered the small bowl. And we soon regret that we did not order the big ones. Haha. The small bowl is too small for us. We can finish it in no time. Haha.

They only open in the morning. So if you want to taste this heavenly noodle. You must wake up early.. We came about 9.30 and the q was already long. The street is rather small. So you need to be careful as well, because many cars are passing through that small alley as well.

Mango Tango

It’s a dessert place that is very popular among singaporeans  and indonesians as well.. Placed in the middle of siam square. Easy to find since the place is quite big. And they served you the sweetest mango in town.. Okay, it may sound hiperbole. But the mangoes are crazy nicee.. Hehe.. Somemore if you eat it when you are tired and it’s hot outside.

They have a nice place to just hang out and talk. But everyone of us need to order at least one item to sit down over there. So we ordered :

  • Signature Mango Tango Sticky Rice – a must buy meal in Mango Tango where you can taste a little bit of everything. As mentioned before, the mangoes are undoubtly sweet, tasty and not too ripe (so not so soft) , the sticky rice is good too (seems like all the sticky rice in bkk are good), mango milky ice cream, and soft mango pudding
  • Mango Sago – normal sweet diced mango with milky sago.
  • Kiwi Juice – just a normal kiwi Juice. not in the picture. =(

Sirocco Open Air Bar & Restaurant – Bangkok

Two weeks ago i was just back from the most impromptu trip ever. One of my friend was just resigned from her job. And will be going in to the new office, only few days after that. Since she just have few days to relax, she randomly asked me if i want to go to Bangkok. And without hesitating, i answered, Yes! Haha

We booked the air-tickets less than 24 hours, and tried to psycho some other friend as well to go with us.
And guess what.. Within the next 48 hours, We convinced 2 other people to go. Haha. All planning and booking was less in a week time. Guess impromptu trip is the best sometimes. Less planning time, so less headache and guaranteed that everyone will be flying.

We took the afternoon flight to Bangkok, and decided to grab some dinner nearby the hotel and go to Lebua State Tower to have some drinks. From our small hotel in Pratunam area, near Baiyoke Hotel, it took us about 15 mins and cost about 200 THB (SGD 8 or IDR 77.000) by Taxi. Scirocco Bar in Lebua State Tower is the 2nd hippest bar in Bangkok. Where the third is Octave Rooftop Bar at Marriott 57 Hotel  And the first must visit bar is Vertigo & Moon Bar at Banyan Tree hotel.

Since ‘Hangover 2’ the movie did their shooting over there, and since it seems very famous among tourist and bloggers, we thought why not pay them a visit.

And Indeed, it is the most beautiful bar that i have been to. They have the best city view ever from the 64th floor.
The price is rather high compared to Thailand street food and restaurants. It’s price is almost the same as Singapore’s bar. Four of us spent about 1200 THB (SGD 47 or IDR 460.000) for 1 Mojitos, 2 Martinis and 1 beer.
Some of the staffs are friendly and some are not. So dont be surprised if they keep asking you on what to order. Also, each of us must at least order a drink.
As for the dresscode, smart-casual attire will do. Just dont wear slippers.. 🙂
