BALI : TEHILA HOUSE (VLOG)

Partnership post

Hello December! Indeed, time goes by too fast! I still remember vividly how my last December like, having Christmas dinner with my all my loved ones back in Singapore and Jakarta. and this year, im spending most of my December in the island of God, Bali, Indonesia.

Someway somehow, Bali always excites me. It’s the only place that i would not mind to go back again and again, at least for now. Haha. So, Normally i will share about a must go place or must eat food in Bali, but for now, im gonna share with you one villa that captured my heart.

Tehila House

A villa / guest house located in the heart of Canggu has really captured my heart. Definitely not a fancy hotel with all the 5* service, but i love the serene ambiance homey kind of feeling that they offer. Tehila house has 10 different rooms that has been carefully thought and uniquely designed. The owner goal is to get her guests feels inspired when they are staying in Tehila house.

Room 2

During my 3 days stay in Tehila, i got upgraded from the owner to room number 2. A more spacious room for me and my friend who just had her pre-wedding shots in Bali. I personally love this big rooms. i know it’s kinda too big for the two of us. But it feels super comfortable since we can get the queen bed all to ourselves. Love the hanger with the local-made ‘sarong’ as their background, the self-made white bed frame, all the little details that the owner put, the morning rays of lights , the fish pond view and the ‘back-to-nature’ bathroom design that makes your bathing experience a little bit different.

Room 5

During this trip, I also travel with my high-school friend, Aquinaldo Adrian whom nowadays people known him as GD Indonesia. Haha. He got room number 5, which i have to admit that it is one of the nicest room that Tehila has. It has a very picturesque corner that will make you feels like you’re staying in Santorini. Haha. Okay, i might be too much on this. But i just love that blue-white corner to the bits, and love the green stone bed-frame. Guess nowadays, it’s hard for you to find a nice big stone as your bed-frame. Haha

Aside from the nice bed-rooms for us to sleep in, they have this few comfortable public space to hang-out with the other travellers. Like the Gazebo for example, i love how they built it in the middle of the beautiful fish pond. It is super relaxing, and the breeze can literally put you to sleep in that Gazebo.

Other than the Gazebo, the kitchen or the bar could be the perfect place for you to work in. When i spent my days in Tehila, i always woke up in the morning to open up my emails and do some works before i left. Literally the kind of space that i want if i can work remotely.

They also have some sofa to chill in their living room if you want some cooler air. But i prefer to stay in the bar tho. Haha.

And the last but not least, THE POOL! It may looks small from a far, but if you really swim in it. it can be pretty tiring too. *Duhhh. HAHAHA. Anyway they are very thoughtful to put the floaties, so i can take pretty picture with it. Yeayy.. hehe.. Owh, it can be very hot at daytime yet a perfect spot for you who wants to sunbath.

Overall, my stay in Tehila was perfect! Love the owner, Anita very much! Such a lovely person with big personalities! She is very helpful during my stay, shown us good and nice cafe  (which i just knew that there’s a lot of well known cafe around that area. Haha. I even met Irfan Bachdim, Indonesian footballer in one of the cafe. Indeed a strategic place to stay in. Haha) , give us some insights on what to do in Bali as well, and can be a great listener to all your Bali stories. Haha. And last but not least, love the companion of their little friends over there. Puma and Boyboy who fill my stay in Tehila with more laughter. Hope you see you guys again! ❤

Bangkok ‘Dangerous’ : PETITE AUDREY Review & VLOG (Part 2)

Bangkok itinerary is always full with shopping, and non-stop eating. This time we decided to try one of the must-go-thai-cafe called ‘Petite Audrey’. A cafe where all Thai youngsters and tourists talk about after Greyhound and After you cafe.

We initially wanted to go to the main Audrey cafe at Thonglor, but since we planned to shop at Siam Square and Platinum after that, we thought that going to the one at Siam will safe more time. Even though the one at Thonglor looks much bigger and nicer than it’s branch in Siam.

When we googled about Petite Audrey, some bloggers said that this cafe is inspired by Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. They adopt classic vintage feelings for the decoration, and Thai-western fusion for it’s food. Well, as for me, i love their entrance.

My hungry-face after waking up late and no breakfast. Haha.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Tom Yam Kung spicy herbs with Prawn and Mushroom (220 THB / 9 SGD) – Best gourmet of the day! Love the thin crust pizza, the prawn is not fishy, crunchy, and nice strong tom yum taste. Must try if you visit this place.

Crab Souffle served with Lobster Brandy Sauce ( 340 THB / 14 SGD ) –  Apparently it’s their must try dish, but turned out to be the biggest regret for us. The lobster sauce was so fishy till i couldnt take it. The crab cheese inside the souffle also smells a bit fishy, but much better than the sauce. Maybe the Thai people likes it? or maybe it was just a bad lobster day for us.

Salmon Spinnach Cannelloni (280 THB / 11.50 SGD) – one nice roll of spinach salmon with a lot of cheesee on it. My 2nd favorite after the TomYum pizza.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Spaghetti Dry Claim in Thai Chili Pasta & Basil (170 THB / SGD 7) – Nice al-dente pasta, at least for me. but the clam is a little fishy too for me.. But i still managed to eat this. still a nice plate of pasta for the rest of my friends. =)

Grilled Marinated Pork wrapped in White Noodles ( 170 THB / 7 SGD ) – It feels like a char siew chee cheong fun for me. Tender pork, nice sauce, but has cilantro-ish taste as well. I personally dont like cilantro, but this one is still fine, since it’s not that strong.

Thai Tea Crepe Cake ( 110 THB / 4.50 SGD ) – I always love Thai Tea, i think this layered cake makes a decent cake with thai tea filling and sauce on top of it. Not that fantastic, but still a nice dessert to have. This is one of the must try dessert in Audrey.

Flower Pot Cake ( 125 THB / 5 SGD ) – Available in 16 flavours if im not wrong. They claimed to be the very first pot cake in Bangkok. We thought that we can eat all of it, including the pot. HAHA. So, we tried to cut it.. and when we cant cut the pot, we called the waiter and asked him why we cant cut the pot. HAHA. And he just explained that it’s only a rubber container and cant be eaten. HAHA. Goshhh.. so basically it’s just a fancy cupcakes on a pot. I dont even know why all of us think it can be eaten as well. HAHA. I forgot what cake that we ordered, but i think it’s red velvet cake with cheese filling and buttercream flower on top? Hmmpp..

Overall, Petite Audrey is a nice hangout place for ladies like us who love to sit and talk and try new food. Haha.. Do see my below VLOG if you understand Bahasa! Hehe

BANGKOK ‘DANGEROUS’ : GIRLS TRIP (VLOG) PART I & KING BHUMIBOL

Yeayy. Finally my new VLOG is up! Udah lama bngt aku gak nge-VLOG.

Haha. Tapi yahh, sometimes it’s not the destination, it’s the people who you go with. ya kan? hehe.

Jadi most of the local disana pakai baju hitam, grey, dark blue atau semua warna yg gelap. Untung banget, aku di kasih tau sama orang thiland yg aku ketemu pas lagi ngemcee bbrp hari sebelum keberangkatan kita.. Klo nggak, gak enak bngt kan salah kostum sendiri gt..

‘This nation has lost a father’, ‘King Bhumibol is like a father to us’. Jadi ikutan sedih dengernyaa.

Anywayy, cukup kali ya cerita soal sang Raja. hehe..

Haha.. Mau tau apa? langsung di tonton aja yaa.. Enjoyy.. Hehe.

Bali : Milu by Nook

Lush green, sun rays, light breeze, a perfect place to rejuvenate your mind and put your mind to ease. The ever-expanding Nook has chose one good place to open up their new sister Restaurant, Milu, on Jalan Pantai Berawa.

Was staying over at my friend’s villa at Canggu, and she asked us for brunch at this lovely place. and, The place does not disappoint at all. Milu by Nook has their famous ‘Nasi Campur’ that you have to try as well. Their Nasi Campur comes in full set, but if you want, you can choose your favorite dishes on your plate too, and they charge you accordingly.

i wasnt in a mood to eat a lot, so i ordered a hearty bowl of Yoghurt and fruits. But the yoghurt wasnt cold enough for me, and tasted a bit blehh. =( But their Nasi Campur and Nasi Goreng is not bad at all. worth the try!

As for me, I love their modern-style interior yet rustic feeling. love the thatch (hay roof) and all the wooden furnitures. Made me want to read some books and sip ice chocolate while looking out to the padi field.

Singapore : Symmetry

Singapore is always a home to me. Even a 6 hours transit in this little red dot country, makes me happy. Haha. Last month, i came to Singapore for some church camps and work-meetings, and decided to spend some time to meet my Indonesian friend, whom i cant seem to have a time to meet in Jakarta itself. It’s still very funny though,  how we both stay in Jakarta, but only managed to have the short catch up in Singapore. Haha. *Guess the perks of staying in Singapore is, we can try to squeeze the time, since there’s no bad traffic.

Anyway, it has been a while since i had my last brunch. and so happy to have it again here in Singapore, a place whereby there’s always a new place to try out. and Finally, we decided to go to small little quirky nice cafe in Bugis area, somewhere in Jalan Kubor, near Haji Lane, called Symmetry.

I love the unfinished wall design, with pop-art decorations. It makes it very hippies and unique. Even though i dont know why they put Jack Skellington outside their cafe. haha.

The food here are a little bit pricy, but i enjoyed all of their dishes. The pasta is thick and chewy. Pork belly is juicy, and not too dry for the aglio olio. And love the sausage on the big breakfast menu, and the fresh juices on the monster mug. Overall is a nice experience over Symmetry.

It’s kinda packed too over the lunch time, so probably you can come for a brunch session for more serene feeling.

Dublin, Ireland : GUINNESS STOREHOUSE

I got the chance to visit Guinness, one of the most successful beer brand in the world, back in July 2017. This place is Originated from the brewery of the late Arthur Guinness back in year 1759, at the St James’s Gate in Dublin, Ireland.

To be honest, i was very surprised that this brewery is still working perfectly great, despite it’s old age. Amazed how they conserved it very well, and got to expand it to Guinness Storehouse / Museum for the tourist to learn about their history, have a look at some of their old advertisement, and get a taste a pint of their treasure.

The Guinness Store house consist many level of floors, where each level has their own restaurant, some with great live Irish band, and some with a more elegant bar where you can learn more of a pint of Guinness.

if you like to read, there’s plenty history to read on each level. But if you’re kinda rushing, i dont think you miss a lot as well.

We can claim our free pint of Guinness on the top floor, And quench your thirst while looking at Dublin’s cityscape. I really love the scenery up there! If you cant drink alcohol, You can claim other drinks like soft drinks too. Dont waste the freebies with the pleasant view! Haha.

If you go there, I suggest you to take the lift up to the top floor first, and claim for free Guinness, and walk down slowly and enjoy the Guinness Storehouse’s history. and shop the unique Guinness souvenirs for your last stop.

Forgot to take the Souvenir’s place at the Guinness Storehouse. Taken this instead in one of Dublin’s supermarket to show you how creative Guinness team are. Haha.

UK : Stonehenge – The Mysterious Place (VLOG)

If i can time travel, i think i would want to go back to the time whereby Stonehenge was constructed. 3000 BC to 2000 BC. I am still amazed and felt so curious on how the people or giant back then set up all these crazily heavy stones. With each stones weighing about 25 tons with 3metres high and 2 meters wide.

I kept circling and looking at those stones, and got mind-blown by it. Somehow it just captivates me. Too bad, we cannot get near it. We can only admire it from a far. (except Michael Bay and Transformer autobots) Haha.

For some reason, they prohibit us to bring our own transport near the mega-stones. So, we need to park our cars in their allocated parking lot, and wait for their shuttle bus to bring us there, or if you like to walk and enjoy the green pasture, you can walk from the ticketing place as well. But it may take a while, since it’s pretty far from the pick-up point. One reason that i heard from the people there is, they want to minimize the pollution around the stones. So, even though the shuttle has dropped you at the drop-off point, you still have to walk for 5-10 more minutes to get near to the stones.

There are so many stories behind this UNESCO HERITAGE SITE. Like legend said that Cyclops giant brought over the stones and arranged it there, cause no one is big and strong enough to move this kind of stones. Another story is the high priest of Celts constructed these for sacrificial ceremonial. Then, some other said that it was built by someone who has a strong astronomical background, who built this to tell us the time and calendar.

No one really know who and how this megalithic pre-historic monuments was built and for what purpose. But since it’s already there, i think it’s our part to take care of this mysterious world assets. and Thank you England for conserving this so well up till today. Such an amazing place indeed. Feels like you can get a lot of inspirations if you linger there longer with some beer and picnic. Haha. Love the spacious green field, the noise-free and the clear sky and the cold breeze.

UK’s Fun Facts

What i love about travelling is i can learn new interesting thing about that other countries. Which sometimes made me feel relieved that I stay in Jakarta , Indonesia, and often times makes me want to migrate to that particular city or country. Haha

When i went to UK two months ago (mid June 2017), i found a few interesting things that i cant wait to share with you all!

1. The bare minimum age for purchasing alcohol is 25 ??

Found this red-note-sign at one of Liverpool’s supermarket. I am quite surprised to know that you have to be above 25 to purchase alcohol drink. I’m like, really?? I though UK is more lenient than Asia. Since most of the restaurants are selling alcohol as well. and they never asked us our ID when we purchase alcohol drink in UK. *Asia has 18 as their bare minimum age to drink and to purchase alcohol drink

According to some research that i did. UK has 18 as their bare minimum age for drinking as well. But if supermarkets violated this law (which means, selling alcohol drink to underage persons) they have to adopt the ‘challenge 25’ scheme. Which means, you have to be 25 to purchase in that supermarket. Interesting policy.

2. Shoe Cleaner outside UK’s houses

I saw this a lot in-front of UK’s houses, and was wondering what’s the use of that little tiny bar near the door entrance.

Until one day, i went to ask our local tour guide, and found out that little black bar in-front of most houses is for cleaning the backside of the sole of your shoes. Haha. I think this is very useful! Super creative feature!

3. British Summer Time is super long!

The summer time in Britain is super long! This picture was taken in Liverpool at 9.30-ish in the evening.

UK now is having their Daylight Saving from March 26 – October 29. I only know that the days are longer and the night-time are shorter. But i dont really get how this day-light saving works. So, if you normally go to work at 9am. Do you still go to work at 9am? or 8am? Hmmpp..

4. Talent matters most

I was dry-ing my hair in the morning, and when i looked at the news, i found something rather different yet beautiful in my eyes.

Guess, the pictures tells everything, that physical disability doesnt really matter in UK. I guess Indonesia should apply this as well. where not only pretty slim perfect faces gets on-air, but someone who really is capable in doing so.

5. The pedestrian red light button

Well, actually this is pretty normal button. where you need to press on the button when you need to cross the road. But i realized that, they only have it on the side, and not having their own pillar. So, you need to wait the car to stop, or see the sign beside you if it’s already turn green.

I realized it, because normally i would look up to the pedestrian red light across the street, but found only those red lights for the cars.

6. The strong pop-corn game!

The pop-corn game is stronggg in UK! haha.. This is in Liverpool’s movie theatre. would really love to buy one that time. but my throat was not feeling very-well. Since i dont want to be sick for the rest of the trip. So i must skip on this one. Booo!

So, you can get plain popcorn, or you add up 1 topping for GBP 1 , or 3 toppings for GBP 2. You can add MNMs, minstrels chocolate, mini oreos and mini pretzels.

Liverpool : This is Anfield

United Kingdom, a country where football can be counted as one of their religion. I guess most people who love Steven Gerrard will definitely put Liverpool as one of their travelling bucket list when they come to Great Britain. and i am thankful to be able to visit the world’s 8th most valuable football club, even though i’m not a hardcore fan.

Liverpool Stadium size is much smaller than Manchester United, the previous stadium that i visited. Anfield stadium can accommodate to 54,000 spectators. But we were not so lucky that day, we cant see their nice green grass because they had their pitch relaid. Which means, they have to change their grass, drainage system and heating system so it will be a better ground for the team to play again in August.

Hillsborough Tragedy memorial (Liverpool vs Nottingham Forrest, 1989) – i just knew that there’s this kind of Tragedy. I firstly thought that it was a plane crash memorial. It turns out to be a human crush memorial. never though over crowded can end like this.

=(

DSC04012DSC04038DSC04015DSC04042DSC04017DSC04046DSC04029DSC04033

And this time around, we get to see Liverpool’s team changing room! Yeayy!

So amazed by the nice changing room! It is super cool! But i thought it will be much bigger with some lockers above the shirts panel. The guide told us that we can do anything that we want inside the changing room, we can take pictures and video, sniff the shirt, kiss it, hold it, hug it, but Do Not remove the shirt from the hanger. haha..

For Liverpool fans, i am sure you know ‘This is Anfield’ sign. The famous sign that has always been touched by the team before they are out for the game. That acted out as their good luck charm.

The most Iconic sign of Anfield has been removed from Anfield main tunnel and got modified as well. I guess people will like the previous sign with the nice old frame on it. But well, Jurgen Klopp, the Reds boss mentioned that players cannot touch the ‘This Is Anfield’ sign until they win something,”  “It’s a sign of respect”. But well, i think the new signage is too high for some Asian tho. Even my brother can only touched a bit of it. Haha.

DSC04051DSC04056DSC04058DSC04060DSC04062DSC04064DSC04068

Liverpool stadium is a little bit awkward in their positioning though. This gate is located outside the stadium. You’ll see this gate, If you’re going to the merchandise shop from the stadium.

To go to Liverpool’s merchandise shop, you have to pass by one alley of local’s houses, which is pretty far from their stadium. Well, it was quite warm with some wind on that day, so walking experience is quite enjoyable. More over most of the houses have unique coloured doors for us to see, very English i must say. Sorry for not taking picture of that alley though. =(

I am not sure if everyone still stays there. But i think it will be such a headache everytime Anfield has to hold a game. Haha.. Well, for the location, i guess Anfield is more accessible since it’s located at the city itself.

You can get the Stadium tour ticket for 17 GBP (SGD 30 // Rp 297,000) and you can book it online as well to see the available dates.

Manchester United – Old Trafford

Helloo everyone, how was your Lebaran holiday?

Be it travelling abroad or local, or simply just enjoying your quality time with your loved ones in the perfect Jakarta’s traffic. I hope that it was a great one for you and your family!

As for myself, my family decided to go for UK on this year hari Raya. I never fancy a tour trip before. But this one is kinda different. I quite enjoyed the 2 weeks of tour trip conducted by Indonesia local travel agent.

I am not sure if it’s the schedule that was quite free for us to roam around the cities, or the fun tour-mates that we had. Haha.

Anyway, we took a 13hrs and 45 mins flight that goes directly to Manchester from Singapore. and since we are in Manchester, guess Old Trafford is the right place to visit for the very first destination.

DSC03913DSC03920IMG_3337

Well, i am not a big fan of football actually. So i did not have that butterfly on my stomach kinda feeling like others may had. But to be honest, i am very impressed by this second biggest stadium in England, somehow it just sparks ‘magic’ to those who visited them.

Manchester United is one of the football’s most successful club. Big Thanks to Sir Alex Ferguson, the Red Devil’s former manager. Even though i don’t really understand how the football industries work. But Sir Alex Ferguson must had worked his a*s off to make this team to be one of the world-known football team.

I think not many football club have their own stadium. And their’s is the largest football club stadium in all over England.  What an achievement, isn’t it?

Moreover, they have their own stadium and museum tour. Whereby all MU and football fans from all around the world can taste the glorious home base of Manchester United!

We got our ticket for 16 GBP (SGD 28 // IDR 278.000) for the 1 hr stadium and museum tour. We supposed to see the whole stadium and the changing room with other rooms too. But since we were late for our appointed tour. We can only visit the main stadium only. =(..  If you’re not going with the tour (who already help you to arrange everything), You can purchase it online as well, and see the available time slot. and Remember, Dont be Lateeee..

And for you who could not wait to buy their souvenirs, fret not!

Just walk out from the museum, and walk to the other side of the stadium and you’ll find the megastore!

FunFact : Gelora Bung Karno ( Jakarta football stadium) is larger than Old Trafford. Where GBK has about 80,000 seats and 76,000 seats for Old Trafford.

*Hopefully Indonesia can have their own stadium tour someday, and every football fans from all around the world will come over to Jakarta just to see GBK.
